Hey there! I’m Tumisang Rasesia – but you can call me Tumi, the voice behind Chatty.Tumi!
Why Chatty.Tumi, you ask? Well, I love to chat! And what better way to help you learn English than through lively, meaningful conversations? My platform is all about learning English while exploring the beautiful cultures and everyday life of Africa, especially Botswana. Let’s break stereotypes, build bridges, and have some fun along the way!
I spent two and a half amazing years in Japan at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, nestled in the charming city of Beppu, Kyushu. My time in Japan gave me a deep appreciation for Japanese culture (and I even speak a little Japanese, which can be handy during lessons!). That’s why I’ve made Japan a key focus of my teaching—though everyone’s welcome here!
Back home, I’m an actress, a published author, and an all-around curious soul. Before diving into online English teaching, I spent ten months teaching English to adorable kindergarten kids, and now I have over two years of experience teaching English online. I bring all that experience—and a love for travel, learning, and people—right into our lessons.
At Chatty.Tumi, we keep it real! We’ll dive into everyday topics, share stories, and explore what life in Africa is really like through short vlogs and interactive sessions. Whether you’re from Japan or anywhere else, I’m here to make English learning exciting, relevant, and packed with culture. What makes it even more special is the cultural exchange—while you experience Africa and Botswana through me, I get to travel through your culture, learning from you too!
So, come join me, and let’s chat our way to fluency while discovering the wonders of Africa—and each other’s cultures—together!
